LLOYDS BANK TO CLOSE 10 BRANCHES IN NOVEMBER

MON 26 OCT 2026

Lloyds Bank plans to close 10 branches in November, with the first closures scheduled for 3 November. Branches in Accrington and Wallsend will close that day, followed by Ilkeston and Willenhall on 5 November. Lloyds has scheduled closures in Leicester and Liverpool for 9 November and in Wakefield for 10 November. Two more branches, in Leicester and Worksop, will close on 11 November. The final closure, in Harrogate, is scheduled for 19 November.

Lloyds Banking Group, which owns Lloyds Bank, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, says more customers are moving to online banking. Figures for its wider closure plan differ: one puts the total at 240 locations by 2027, while another puts it at more than 240 across 2026 and 2027. A further 23 Lloyds branches have closed or are due to close in October, alongside three Halifax branches. Those Lloyds locations include branches in Birmingham, Nottingham and Southampton. The November closures include two sites listed in Leicester, at 184 Melton Road and 61 Leicester Road.

Lloyds Banking Group said it considers how customers can continue to access banking services when it changes its branch network. “We follow Financial Conduct Authority guidance when announcing closures,” the group said. It said a Community Banker may visit an area after a closure, or an independent review may lead to a nearby Banking Hub or Deposit Service. Customers can use branches across the group’s brands to deposit cash, withdraw money and pay in cheques. Post Office-run banking hubs also provide cash services and face-to-face support; a February count put their number across the UK at more than 200.
