JAMESON WILLIAMS SCORES TWO TOUCHDOWNS AGAINST PACKERS
Jameson Williams caught his second touchdown of the game as the Detroit Lions regained the lead against the Green Bay Packers. Jared Goff threw the 10-yard pass to Williams after Detroit had fallen behind in the third quarter. Williams had also caught a 16-yard touchdown pass in the first half. Score updates gave Detroit’s resulting lead as 16-14, 17-14 and 17-10. The accounts do not establish a single agreed score at that point in the game.
Detroit drove 80 yards in 10 plays after Green Bay took a 14-10 lead following the Lions’ second fumble. Centre Cade Mays played a part in both turnovers, according to the account of the game. He inadvertently knocked the ball from Jahmyr Gibbs’ arm with 19 seconds left in the first half. Mays then had an aborted snap on Detroit’s second play of the second half. The account said the official statistics did not assign both fumbles to him.
Williams had five catches for 91 yards and two touchdowns when the game update recorded his second score. It was his second consecutive game with two touchdowns. At that stage, Goff had completed 18 of 22 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns. The same update put Detroit ahead of Green Bay by 314 yards to 248 in total offence. A later game highlight listing credited Goff with 303 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Packers.
