TOM BRADY SWEARS LIVE ON AIR DURING FOX NFL BROADCAST

MON 02 NOV 2026 US SPORTS

Tom Brady swore live on air during Fox's NFL Sunday pregame show, marking the second such moment during a broadcast this year. The remark came as Brady and former quarterback Drew Brees ran through a quiz segment identifying quarterbacks who rank third in various all-time statistical categories. After getting the final question wrong, Brady said, "Oh shit." The comment was broadcast live on the Fox network. Brady holds a reported $375 million contract as a broadcaster for the network.

The first instance this year came in Week 2, during coverage of a game involving the Washington Commanders, after quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocation of his left elbow for the second time in two seasons. Brady, who is also a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, had separately drawn attention for repeatedly criticising match officials during a broadcast of a game between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions. It remains unclear whether the National Football League issued any fine over those comments on officiating. Brady's on-air role has continued despite these two unscripted moments during live broadcasts this year.

Whether the Federal Communications Commission will act over the on-air profanity is not yet known. Fines for swearing on broadcast, as opposed to cable, networks have historically been possible, though enforcement of such rules has become less strict in recent years. Any penalty, if issued, would fall on the individual stations that carried the broadcast rather than on Brady or Fox directly. No announcement of disciplinary action has been made public at this stage.
