HEIDI KLUM REVEALS SEVERED HAND COSTUME FOR HALLOWEEN PARTY

Heidi Klum appeared as a giant severed hand at her annual Halloween party in New York on Saturday, marking 25 years since she began hosting the event. The costume depicted her own left hand, with fake blood, exposed tendons and manicured nails, leaving only her eyes and mouth visible. Blood dripped from her mouth as she posed for photographers, and she wore her real engagement ring and wedding band on the oversized hand. Assistants in blood-stained hazmat suits accompanied her. Klum said the idea came to her last year. "I looked at my hand and I thought, 'Hey, I think I could fit my body in this somehow,'" she said.

Klum said the costume took five to six hours to put on, though it took far longer to build. She posted hints on social media earlier in the day, including images of her prosthetic make-up. "Hands down, the hardest thing is carrying it. It's quite heavy," she said. The design included a tattoo of her husband's name, the musician Tom Kaulitz, on her ring finger, along with painted palm lines and veins. Kaulitz did not attend this year's party because he was on tour.

Klum has previously appeared at the party as the Greek figure Medusa, a peacock, a "Thriller" werewolf, and the Hindu goddess Kali, and arrived suspended on a fishing line inside a worm costume in 2022. Other guests wore elaborate outfits too. The Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall appeared as a stone gargoyle, while the influencer James Charles dressed as Yzma from The Emperor's New Groove. The model Kim Hnizdo wore a robot costume bearing a sign reading: "Humanity is pregnant with its own extinction."
