OLIVER GLASNER WARNS FOREST PLAYERS AFTER BRENTFORD DEFEAT
Nottingham Forest lost 2-0 away to Brentford, with a Nikola Milenkovic own goal and a strike from Igor Thiago sealing the win at the Gtech Community Stadium. It was Forest's fifth Premier League defeat of the season and left them in the bottom three. Forest fans booed and chanted in anger after the final whistle. Head coach Oliver Glasner called the result "disappointing and frustrating" and said losing four of the last five games meant he intended to make changes. "It's now time that we change things, that I change things. That's what I will do," he said.
Glasner took charge of Forest in the summer, becoming the club's fifth head coach in the space of a year, and has won only once since then. Asked where, he said "everywhere," adding he had made "too many compromises." Forest went through four managers last season while fighting relegation. He said he would tell players what the club needs to do, and that his own future depended on their response. "If the players buy in, I think we can have a turnaround. If not, the sixth manager will come in," he said.
Glasner said he did not need sympathy, adding he could start a new job within a fortnight if he chose to leave. He said the players and staff remained in the same situation the club faced last season. He said the club needed to be rebuilt "from the bottom to the top" without compromise. He said he had joined Forest "to succeed" and to turn the vision of the owner and fans into reality, adding: "We need to have a bigger change than maybe I thought, to be honest."
