SEAN BRADY WITHDRAWS FROM GABRIEL BONFIM BOUT AT UFC VEGAS 124

FRI 30 OCT 2026

Sean Brady has withdrawn from his bout against Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Vegas 124 after suffering a knee injury. Brady and Bonfim had been due to headline the event at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas on 7 November. Brazilian MMA journalist Laerte Viana reported that Johnny Walker will instead face Waldo Cortes-Acosta in the heavyweight main event. The change comes nine days before the event. The UFC has not announced a replacement opponent for Bonfim.

Brady beat Joaquin Buckley over three rounds at UFC 328 in May, after Michael Morales knocked him out in the first round in November 2025. Brady also handed Leon Edwards his first career stoppage defeat in London last year. Bonfim has won five consecutive UFC fights, including victories over Randy Brown and Belal Muhammad this year. He entered the UFC through the Contender Series in 2022 and has lost once in the promotion. Bonfim has received two Performance of the Night bonuses in the past 18 months.

Walker moved to heavyweight after losing a split decision to Dominick Reyes at UFC 327 in April. He knocked out Mick Parkin with a first-round knee in his heavyweight debut at UFC 332 on 3 October. Cortes-Acosta won four of five fights in 2025 and has won one of three this year. His 2026 victory came against Derrick Lewis at UFC 324 in January. Briton Davey Grant is also scheduled to return at the Las Vegas event.
