AARON JONES AGGRAVATES KNEE INJURY AGAINST COLTS
Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones aggravated a previous knee injury during Sunday’s 16-10 win over the Colts, head coach Kevin O’Connell said. Jones left in the fourth quarter to have his knee checked. The Vikings considered him questionable to return, but he remained on the sideline for the final minutes. O’Connell gave no further details about Jones’s condition after the game.
O’Connell said Jones first suffered the injury a couple of weeks earlier. A knee problem had kept Jones out of parts of two previous games this season. Against the Colts, Jones carried the ball eight times for 26 yards and caught one pass for no gain. Jordan Mason returned from injured reserve on Sunday and recorded 68 yards from 15 carries. Mason had more carries than Jones in the win.
The Vikings next play in Detroit on Sunday, 1 November. Jones has appeared in all seven of Minnesota’s games this season, including the Colts fixture. O’Connell gave no timetable for his recovery, and his availability for the Detroit game remains unclear. The Vikings’ practice sessions during the coming week may provide further information about whether Jones can join the line-up.
