REVOLUT AND LLOYDS CUSTOMERS REPORT BANKING OUTAGES
Revolut and Lloyds Bank customers reported problems accessing their accounts on Tuesday morning, while Google Cloud reported faults affecting services in Western Europe. Revolut users said its app displayed a “Something went wrong” message and told them to “try again later”. Revolut customers also reported that they could not make card payments. Lloyds Bank customers said they could not log in to their accounts. Google Cloud said multiple services were experiencing elevated errors and intermittent network failures in its europe-west2 region.
Customers also reported problems involving HSBC, DPD, Bank of Scotland and Screwfix. Reports of disruption at those services began around the same time as the Google Cloud faults. The available information did not establish whether the Google Cloud problem caused every disruption. Google Cloud said its engineers were investigating the faults and apologised to affected users.
Revolut said on X that it was “currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple features”, which could make some services inaccessible. It said its engineering team was working to restore full service as quickly as possible. Google Cloud supplies servers and software that websites and other online services use to operate. Those shared systems let customers add capacity when traffic rises, and a fault at one provider can affect several services at once.
