LADY LOUISE WINDSOR REPORTEDLY COOKED FOR BALMORAL LODGE GUESTS

MON 19 OCT 2026

Lady Louise Windsor reportedly worked as a cook at Balmoral Castle in Scotland over the summer. She prepared food for people renting lodges on King Charles’s estate, according to the account of her work. Louise is the daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie, and King Charles is her uncle. The amount she received for the cooking work has not been disclosed.

Louise also held a paid role as a principal organiser, administrator and concierge at the Royal Windsor Horse Show. She had previously attended the show and had asked for office work there during a university summer holiday. Earlier this year, she graduated from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. During her A-levels, she worked at a garden centre in Surrey, where she was reportedly paid £6.83 an hour. The garden centre was near Bagshot Park, where her family lived.

Louise’s brother James also worked at a royal estate over the summer, taking a job as a farmhand at Sandringham. James is now at university, according to the account of his summer work. Duchess Sophie has previously described how she and Prince Edward approached their children’s future employment. “We try to bring them up with the understanding that they are very likely to have to work for a living,” she said. Sophie said they had decided not to use HRH titles for their children.
