ARMED POLICE SEARCH FOR PEOPLE AFTER BOY INJURED NEAR GLOUCESTER SCHOOL
Gloucestershire Police said armed officers were searching for people who fled after a boy suffered injuries near St Peter's Secondary school in Gloucester. The force said the boy sustained minor injuries and went to hospital for assessment. Police attended Chalford Road in Tuffley on Friday morning, 6 November, following a sighting of a male carrying a “long-bladed item”. Officers said those involved had left the area before the search.
The police response included armed officers near St Peter's Secondary school, with the boy's injuries occurring nearby. Gloucestershire Police said it had received no reports of anyone else suffering injuries at the time of its statement. The force described the hospital visit as an assessment of the injured boy. Its account did not identify those involved or explain how the boy sustained his injuries.
Gloucestershire Police advised parents to stay away from St Peter's Secondary school while officers continued their work. The force said: “It is understood that there is currently no ongoing threat at the school and pupils are safe within the school grounds, and therefore parents are asked not to attend the premises at this time.” Police continued searching the area for those involved. The force added: “We will provide more information once in a position to do so.”
