SAN PORTABLO ANNOUNCES DEATH OF DIRTY SANCHEZ STAR MIKE LOCKE
San Portablo has announced the death of Mike Locke, known as Pancho from MTV’s stunt-and-prank series Dirty Sanchez. The clothing shop in Port Talbot shared a statement from the business and the Locke family on Instagram on Friday morning, 6 November. The statement identified him by his full name, Michael Richard Locke, and described him as a father, son, brother and uncle. San Portablo paid tribute to his personality, saying he “lit up the world with his charm.”
Locke came from Neath in South Wales and rose to prominence through Dirty Sanchez in the early 2000s. He appeared as one of the programme’s four members alongside Matthew Pritchard, Lee Dainton and Dan Joyce. The group performed stunts, challenges and pranks, drawing comparisons with the American stunt programme Jackass. Away from television, Locke maintained his connections with Wales and became involved in the fashion industry through San Portablo.
San Portablo said it would close the shop for the day following the announcement of Locke’s death. Its tribute also recognised his involvement in skating and his work as a stuntman. The business called him “an absolute Welsh treasure” and referred to him as its “San Portablo King”. The statement ended with the words: “Rest In Peace, brother. Your legend will never cease.”
