BOURNEMOUTH BEAT SPARTA PRAGUE AS MILAN LOSE TO FERENCVAROS
Bournemouth won 3-1 away to Sparta Prague in the Europa League, making it four victories from four in the competition's league phase. The win extended the club's winning run in all competitions to seven matches. AC Milan lost 2-0 at home to Ferencvaros, with Lenny Joseph scoring twice for the Hungarian side. Ferencvaros also made it four wins from four, taking them to 12 points in the league phase.
Sparta took the lead through Ebrima Singhateh, moments after Bournemouth's Lewis Cook saw a penalty strike the post. Sparta's Tobias Guddal was sent off for a second yellow card within two minutes of the opening goal, leaving his side with ten men. Bournemouth equalised in the 57th minute when Tyler Adams smashed a loose ball into the bottom corner. Evanilson put Bournemouth ahead in the 81st minute with a low finish across the goalkeeper, before Rayan added a third goal late on. Bournemouth had not conceded a goal during their previous six-match winning streak before Singhateh's strike.
At the San Siro, Joseph scored in the 52nd and 66th minutes, with Ferencvaros substitute Bamidele Yusuf sent off in the 77th minute. Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani started in place of suspended captain Mike Maignan, who was sent off in a 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth earlier in the competition. United States forward Christian Pulisic began the match on the substitutes' bench before replacing Alphadjo Cissè at half-time. Milan, managed by Ruben Amorim, sit outside the top 24 in the league phase standings with three points from four games. Bournemouth's manager Marco Rose has his side positioned for direct qualification to the last 16 after four wins from four in the club's debut European season.
