ROAD CLOSURES TO HIT WORCESTERSHIRE FOR REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY PARADES

THU 05 NOV 2026

Temporary road closures will affect towns across Worcestershire on Sunday 8 November as communities hold parades and services for Remembrance Sunday. Closures are planned in the Malvern Hills district, covering Great Malvern, Malvern Wells, Clifton upon Teme, Tenbury Wells and Upton upon Severn. Further closures will apply in Bromsgrove district towns, including Alvechurch, Bromsgrove, Catshill, Rubery and Wythall, and in Worcester, Droitwich and Ombersley. The closures will allow veterans, serving Armed Forces personnel and cadet forces to parade through town centres, with most roads reopening by early afternoon.

In Great Malvern, Church Street will close from 10am to 11am for the Remembrance Sunday Parade, with Graham Road and Como Road also shut until late morning. Wells Road in Malvern Wells, The Village in Clifton upon Teme, and central Upton upon Severn will also close for parades. Tenbury Wells will see short closures of Church Street, Market Street and Teme Street either side of 11am. In Worcester, Charles Street and Friar Street will close from 8am to 12.30pm for the city's Remembrance Parade and wreath-laying ceremony.

Councillor Dan Boatright-Greene, chairman of the Worcestershire Armed Forces Partnership, said Remembrance Sunday was one of the most important dates in the community calendar. He said: "It brings us all together to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed in times of conflict." Boatright-Greene said he looked forward to seeing veterans, serving personnel and cadet forces parade through his own town. He also thanked those organising services and parades across the county, as well as returning Armed Forces personnel taking part. Additional parades and closures are planned in Astwood Bank and in the St John's and Claines areas of Worcester.
