LORRAINE AND THIS MORNING PULLED FROM ITV SCHEDULE AFTER POWER OUTAGE

WED 04 NOV 2026

ITV's morning schedule was disrupted on Wednesday after a power outage hit the Covent Garden studio where Lorraine and This Morning are filmed. Lorraine Kelly's chat show was pulled from its usual 9.30am slot, with Good Morning Britain extended to fill the gap. Kelly announced the disruption in a video posted to Instagram on her way to work. "There's a power outage at the studio, so my show won't be on today," she said. She added that engineers expected to fix the fault by around 11am.

Good Morning Britain, presented by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls, began at 6am and was extended to 10am to cover the gap. This Morning, usually hosted by Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard and filmed at the same studio, was initially expected to air later but was replaced instead by a clip show. Loose Women was also cancelled, with Tipping Point: Best Ever Finals taking its 12.30pm slot. Good Morning Britain is broadcast from a separate studio on Gray's Inn Road in Holborn, which was unaffected. Normal programming was due to resume at 2pm, following ITV Lunchtime News at 1pm.

Kelly said she would reschedule her planned interview with Sharleen Spiteri of the band Texas. "It's a bit of a shame, I was really looking forward to talking to Sharleen Spiteri from Texas but we shall reschedule and it'll all be fine," she told viewers, promising to return the next day. In a caption accompanying her Instagram video, she wrote: "These things happen. Can't be helped. See you tomorrow." The outage came amid wider discussion in the UK about the possibility of power cuts linked to gas supplies affecting power stations.
