BRIGITTE BARDOT CUT HUSBAND BERNARD D'ORMALE FROM HER WILL
Brigitte Bardot excluded her husband, Bernard d'Ormale, from her will before her death, according to a letter published in Le Figaro. In the letter, dated 17 November 2022, Bardot told d'Ormale: "For 30 years, you have patiently destroyed me, day after day." She wrote that she needed "a shoulder to lean on, of support, of tenderness, of a presence – things you are simply incapable of giving me. Checkmate!" Bardot died in December 2025 at La Madrague, the Saint-Tropez home she shared with d'Ormale. D'Ormale has since been evicted from the property.
Bardot and d'Ormale married in Norway in 1992, though the marriage was not legally recognised in France. In the same letter, Bardot said she had a "visceral need for a companion who would give me love and accompany me on my last path in life, who would be happy to sit and have a coffee with me." D'Ormale's lawyer said he "was treated deplorably", while a spokesperson for Bardot's animal protection foundation said he has been "well-supported." When his eviction from La Madrague was first reported, d'Ormale told the newspaper Nice Matin: "All this is sickening."
Bardot's estate has been divided between her son, Nicolas Charrier, and the animal protection foundation she founded, with nothing left to d'Ormale. D'Ormale had continued living at La Madrague after Bardot's death and took on the role of president of her foundation, before his eviction from the property. Bardot appeared in 45 films and worked as a singer before retiring from public life in 1973. Her past relationships included one with the singer Serge Gainsbourg.
