TRUMP INVITES DEMOCRAT HALEY STEVENS TO JOIN REPUBLICANS

US President Donald Trump has praised Michigan Democrat Haley Stevens for endorsing Republican candidate Mike Rogers over fellow Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, and invited her to join the Republican Party. Trump, who has not met Stevens, said he and Speaker Johnson "would love to have her" in the party.

Some churchgoers in Detroit said Stevens's endorsement of Rogers could move votes.
