CRAIG MELVIN SPILLS CHOCOLATE ON MARTHA STEWART

Craig Melvin spilled chocolate ganache on Martha Stewart’s white trousers during a live Halloween cooking segment on Today on Friday. Melvin dropped a piping bag while Stewart showed him, Savannah Guthrie and Carson Daly how to make Halloween treats. Stewart screamed, and Melvin apologised, saying, “Oh no! So sorry, Martha!” Melvin had dressed as Stewart’s friend Snoop Dogg for the programme. Stewart replied, “Real Snoop would never do that!”

The group also decorated a spiderweb cheesecake during the segment. Stewart criticised Guthrie’s icing, saying, “This is so sloppy, I’ve never seen anything so bad.” Guthrie responded, “That hurt my feelings!” Stewart later told the group, “My Halloween crew is out of control here.” Daly joked that Melvin might have been “in the garden” before the programme, referring to Snoop Dogg’s association with marijuana.

The presenters wore costumes for Today’s Halloween programme. Guthrie dressed as an NBC page and also portrayed Rachel from Friends, while Daly copied country singer Ella Langley’s look. Dylan Dreyer dressed as the character from I Dream of Jeannie, Sheinelle Jones appeared as a Rockette, and Jenna Bush Hager portrayed Phoebe from Friends. Stewart’s cooking segment brought Melvin, Guthrie and Daly together to make the Halloween treats on live television.
