CHIEFS LIMIT TRAVIS KELCE IN PRACTICE WITH ANKLE INJURY
The Kansas City Chiefs listed Travis Kelce as a limited participant in Thursday’s practice because of an ankle injury. Kelce had taken part fully on Wednesday ahead of the Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos. Kansas City also listed him as questionable for the game. “Rashee Rice, Travis Kelce, L’Jarius Sneed, and Omarr Norman-Lott were limited in practice today,” the Chiefs said on X. The team has not given details of the injury’s severity.
Kelce hurt his ankle during Kansas City’s 22-6 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He left the field for treatment, then returned and finished with four catches for 53 yards. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Kelce had “tweaked his ankle”. Kelce later played against the Seattle Seahawks and made four catches for 44 yards in a 20-3 defeat. During that game, he passed Marvin Harrison and Cris Carter to reach fifth place on the NFL’s all-time receptions list.
Kelce has recorded 24 catches for 343 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season. He also passed Tony Gonzalez for the most combined regular-season and playoff receiving yards by a tight end. The Chiefs lead the AFC West with a 5-1 record, while Denver stand at 5-2. Kelce gained 71 receiving yards when the teams met in their season opener. Kansas City is due to issue another injury report before the Denver game.
