JUAN CARLOS FERRERO AGREES ATP TOUR COACHING DEAL FOR 2027

Juan Carlos Ferrero says he has agreed to coach a player on the ATP Tour in 2027. “I can already say that I have reached an agreement with a player. On November 9, it will come to light,” Ferrero said. He declined to identify the player or give further details of the agreement. Ferrero had said in September that he intended to return to tour coaching the following year.

Ferrero’s coaching partnership with Carlos Alcaraz ended in December 2025 after more than seven years. During that period, Alcaraz won six Grand Slam titles and reached the world No 1 ranking. Ferrero, a former world No 1 and French Open champion, spent much of 2026 away from the professional circuit. His work with Alcaraz has drawn attention to whom he will coach next.

Ferrero did not confirm a connection with Rafael Jódar when asked about the Spanish player. Asked separately about joining Jannik Sinner’s team, Ferrero said, “I’ll pass on that.” He said he would keep his thoughts on that possibility to himself and might discuss it in the distant future. Ferrero has previously expressed interest in coaching Sinner and praised the Italian player’s work ethic. He says the identity of the player covered by his new agreement will become public on 9 November.
