MATT LAFLEUR SAYS MICAH PARSONS COULD PRACTISE NEXT WEEK

WED 28 OCT 2026 US SPORTS

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said Micah Parsons could return to practice next week as he recovers from a torn knee ligament. “I'm saying there's a chance,” LaFleur said when asked about the linebacker’s return. Parsons tore his anterior cruciate ligament on 14 December 2025 and has not played this season. He remains on the reserve/physically unable to perform list. Green Bay has a 4-3 record and sits last in the NFC North.

The Packers acquired Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys before last season, sending defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks in exchange. Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks and 41 tackles in 14 games last season. He finished third in voting for NFL Defensive Player of the Year and received Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro selections. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes tore the same ligament on the day Parsons suffered his injury.

Green Bay can open a three-week practice window for Parsons at any time. At the end of that period, the Packers must add him to their 53-man roster or return him to the physically unable to perform list, which would rule him out for the season. Green Bay hosts the Carolina Panthers on Thursday, then faces the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings before its Week 11 bye. The Packers visit the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12 for the NFL’s first Thanksgiving Eve game.
