APPLE ADDS SIRI CONVERSATION RECALL IN IOS 27.2

Apple released iOS 27.2 on Monday, adding a feature that lets Siri AI recall previous conversations on supported iPhones. The update also lets Siri draw information from voicemails, photos sent in Messages and attendees on Calendar invitations. Users can exclude particular apps from Siri and Search access. Apple expanded the Siri AI beta to French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The new Siri features support all iPhone 16 models and later, plus the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

iOS 27.2 also lets people use an iPhone’s front and rear cameras together during a FaceTime call. Other participants need the latest 27.2 update on their iPhone, iPad or Mac to use the feature. Apple added an option to include a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner in a video call. On iPhone, Multiview Expansion lets users watch up to four sporting events at once. Users can also select and copy part of a Siri AI response.

The update adds support for editing captions and comments in Shared Albums and for Google’s SynthID tool to identify images created or altered with generative AI. The iPhone Duo gains Apple Pencil support and Edge Light, which provides an on-screen light for video calls. Apple also added suggestions for actions based on texts in Messages. Its watchOS 27.2 update includes the Siri AI features, while macOS 27.2 adds conversation recall and Messages suggestions. Apple released 27.2 updates for iPad, Apple TV, Vision Pro and HomePod as well.
