FAMILY ANNOUNCES DEATH OF LOONEY TUNES VOICE ACTOR ERIC BAUZA

MON 26 OCT 2026

Eric Bauza, who voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and other Looney Tunes characters, has died. His family announced his death on his Instagram account on Sunday night. “Eric Bauza, Emmy Award-winning voice actor and the modern voice of iconic Looney Tunes characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, along with dozens of other beloved cartoon characters, has passed away suddenly,” the family wrote. The family said more details would follow. Los Angeles County medical examiner records list hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause of death.

Bauza voiced Porky Pig, Tweety, Road Runner, Elmer Fudd and Foghorn Leghorn alongside Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. He spent 15 years working with Warner Bros Animation and took on characters previously voiced by Mel Blanc. Born in Scarborough, Toronto, in 1979, Bauza began his animation career as a character designer. His first acting credit came in 2001 on The Ripping Friends, and he went on to accumulate more than 400 credits. His work also included Space Jam: A New Legacy, DuckTales and Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Bauza voiced several characters in Coyote vs Acme, including Charlie Dog and Gossamer. Warner Bros initially set the film aside in 2023 before selling its distribution rights to Ketchup Entertainment, which released it in August. Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros Television Group and US Networks, said carrying on the Looney Tunes legacy was among the greatest honours of Bauza’s life. Bauza’s manager, Judy Coppage, described him as a “unique and versatile voice actor who was loved by everyone he knew and worked with”.
