JAMES BOURNE SAYS BROTHER DONATED KIDNEY TO HIM

Busted singer James Bourne said on Monday that his younger brother Chris had donated a kidney to him after doctors told him he had a few years to live. Bourne disclosed the transplant in an update to the biography on his Spotify page. He said both brothers were recovering after surgery. Bourne called Chris “a hero” and said he was beginning to feel much better.

Bourne withdrew from a Busted tour with McFly last year because of poor health. Chris stepped in for him on that tour, Bourne said. Bourne had previously said he needed surgery to extend his life, but had given few details about his condition. Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson are the other members of Busted.

In July, Bourne told followers he was taking a break from Instagram and would post a health update in his Spotify biography. At the time, he said he was “still not out of the woods yet” and thanked fans for their support and patience. In Monday’s update, Bourne said he would need more time to recover. Replying to a well-wisher on X, he wrote: “It's good to still be here thank you.”
