HOME OFFICE WINS APPEAL TO KEEP PALESTINE ACTION BAN IN PLACE

TUE 16 JUN 2026

Five judges ruled that the Home Office acted lawfully in declaring Palestine Action a proscribed organisation. The Court of Appeal decision upheld the ban after the Home Office appealed a previous ruling that had found the organisation's proscription unlawful. The judges determined that the Home Office was legally permitted to impose the ban on the group.

Palestine Action had challenged the proscription order, leading to the initial court decision against the Home Office. The Home Office subsequently appealed that ruling, resulting in the case being heard by five judges at the Court of Appeal. The appeal process examined whether the Home Office had acted within its legal powers when designating the organisation as banned.

The Court of Appeal's decision means the ban on Palestine Action remains in effect. The ruling represents a significant legal victory for the Home Office in its proscription decision. No further appeal announcements have been made regarding the case.
