OJOMOH CALLED INTO ENGLAND SQUAD FOR FRANCE XV FIXTURE

MON 15 JUN 2026 RUGBY

Max Ojomoh has been selected in a 33-player England squad for a non-cap match against a France XV in Vannes on Friday evening. Ojomoh could feature alongside midfield rival Benhard Janse van Rensburg in the fixture. Ollie Lawrence, Ojomoh's Bath colleague, has been overlooked for selection. Lawrence, a centrally-contracted England player, started the autumn win over New Zealand but has struggled to recapture his best form since recovering from a torn Achilles tendon.

Gloucester's Seb Atkinson and uncapped South Africa-born Janse van Rensburg of Bristol Bears complete the centre options for the squad. Janse van Rensburg is available for the non-cap fixture as it does not count as a full Test match, despite his initial association with South Africa rugby. He will complete his five-year residency requirement for England Test eligibility after the Nations Championship opener against South Africa on 4 July. Bath's Ted Hill features among the forwards, whilst Leicester prop Archie van der Flier receives his first senior call-up. Saracens teenager Noah Caluori, the Premiership's leading try-scorer this season, could start at wing.

Northampton and Exeter players are excluded whilst preparing for Saturday's Premiership final. England coach Steve Borthwick will have access to a Leicester second row pairing of George Martin and Ollie Chessum. The selection of this combination may influence decisions regarding Maro Itoje's involvement during the summer period. France's squad lacks players from Top 14 semi-finalists Toulouse, Racing 92, Stade Francais and Montpellier.
