ROCHELLE RACKHAM WINS BIG BROTHER AND FACES BOOS AT FINAL
Rochelle Rackham won ITV’s Big Brother on Thursday 5 November, taking the £100,000 prize after the public vote. She beat Lucinda ‘Twinks’ Burnett in the final following eight weeks in the house. Audience members booed during her victory interview, drowning out presenters AJ Odudu and Will Best. Some chanted “Twinks should have won”, while others demanded a recount. Best appealed to the crowd: “Guys, guys, she can’t hear us speak.”
Rackham, a housewife from Essex, left the house to fireworks and jeers, while several former housemates remained seated. Odudu told her: “We’re going to have to shout.” The interview included questions about Rackham’s rivalry with Johanne Cade, who left in week two, and her treatment of Burnett after Burnett entered as a late arrival. Rackham reflected on winning by saying: “All the suffering was worth it.”
Earlier in the series, Rackham told fellow contestant Charlotte, who lost all four limbs as a child, that she had “a bit of a fear” of people with “no arms”. Charlotte and Rackham cleared the air before Charlotte chose to leave after two weeks. During a separate conversation about Millie’s wish to have a gastric sleeve, Rackham suggested other ways to lose weight and said she “sees what” Millie eats. Millie, who left in the first week, later said on TikTok that she felt Rackham’s weight comment had defined her time on Big Brother.
