FRANK WARREN DENIES TYSON FURY INJURY CLAIMS

FRI 06 NOV 2026 BOXING

Frank Warren has rejected claims that an injury could prevent Tyson Fury from fighting Anthony Joshua at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on 11 December. Fury’s long-time promoter called the suggestion “absolute nonsense” when asked about comments from former world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno. Bruno raised the possibility of an injury during an appearance on Midnite’s Fight Your Corner podcast. He said someone at a gym had told him Fury had an injury that might stop him taking part.

Warren said Fury was doing well, but acknowledged that he had not spoken to the boxer for a week. Describing their last conversation, Warren said: “He’s so up for it, he’s so focused and he wants it so badly.” Fury is training in Miami, where his sparring partners include Joe Joyce and Jarrell Miller. Joshua is also in a training camp ahead of the all-British heavyweight contest, which organisers announced in late September.

Netflix will broadcast the December bout as Fury and Joshua prepare to meet after a rivalry spanning more than a decade. Deontay Wilder, who fought Fury three times, will feature on the undercard. Warren addressed the injury claims at the final press conference for Saturday’s rematch between Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson. He said he intended to give Fury space during preparations: “I’ll leave him alone, leave him in peace.”
