SAUDI COALITION SAYS IT INTERCEPTED HOUTHI MISSILE NEAR MEDINA

The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthis said it intercepted a ballistic missile fired by the group towards the Medina region, home to one of Islam's holiest cities. Coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Malki said on social media: "Interception and destruction of a ballistic missile fired by the Houthi terrorist militia in the Medina region."

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defence had earlier issued an alert for the Yanbu Governorate, near the Red Sea in Medina province.
