HARROW COUNCIL SACKS TWO ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AFTER THREATS VIDEO
Harrow Council has dismissed two enforcement officers following the release of a video showing them threatening a member of the public in northwest London. The footage, recorded in Harrow, depicts the two workers accosting an individual and making threats of violence. One officer is seen disabling his body-worn camera before engaging with the person filming. The officers can be heard threatening to cause physical harm to the individual during the encounter.
The video shows one officer stating he would assault the person when not in uniform, whilst another made references to their connection with police. The dispute appeared to centre on money, though the exact circumstances remain unclear. The officers were employed by Kingdom Services Group, a contractor hired by Harrow Council. The identity of the individual being threatened has not been disclosed.
Harrow Council stated it treats incidents involving disabled body-worn cameras with the utmost seriousness. The council took action by terminating the employment of both officers following the video's circulation. The footage became widely shared online, prompting the council's swift response. No further enforcement action has been confirmed at present.
