FARAGE ANNOUNCES SOCIAL HOUSING POLICY FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS
Nigel Farage announced plans to ban foreign nationals from social housing and pursue deportation if they cannot secure private accommodation ahead of the Makerfield byelection. The Reform UK leader made the pledge in a Substack post on Sunday. According to the proposed policy, foreign nationals unable to relocate to private rented housing within three months would lose their right to remain and face deportation. Farage also stated that veterans and long-term local residents would be prioritised for social housing allocation.
The announcement comes as two new polls indicate Reform UK is losing support to Restore Britain, a rival party led by former Reform MP Rupert Lowe. Farage's 6,800-word essay references white people more than 60 times and states that "anti-whiteness is institutionalised into every aspect of public life". The text characterises diversity, equity and inclusion policies as problematic. Reform has confirmed plans to abolish the Equality Act, stating that no recruitment, training or promotion policies favouring one group over another would be lawful.
Farage's healthcare proposals include capping the recruitment of foreign doctors. The timing of the essay reflects Reform's effort to retain voters in Makerfield who may be considering switching to Restore Britain. The party's broader policy platform centres on restoring what it describes as meritocracy, ensuring skin colour, sex, age and sexuality do not affect job prospects or workplace treatment.
