SHOOTING AT HAYWOOD MALL IN GREENVILLE INJURES MULTIPLE PEOPLE

Multiple people were wounded in a shooting at Haywood Mall in Greenville, South Carolina, on Saturday afternoon. The Greenville Police Department confirmed that at least two victims were transported to a local hospital following the incident. Law enforcement officials detained multiple individuals in connection with the shooting. No additional shots were fired after officers arrived at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates the gunfire resulted from a dispute rather than a random attack, according to police. Haywood Mall is the largest shopping mall in South Carolina. The facility will remain closed until further notice, and the public has been instructed to avoid the area. No details regarding the condition of the wounded were disclosed.

The mall had previously announced increased security measures in June following reports of several fights at the facility. A statement from the mall stated that the safety and security of shoppers, retailers and employees remained a priority. The enhanced security measures included increased police presence both inside and around the mall.
