TAMESIDE LOTTERY WINNER CLAIMS £1 MILLION PRIZE
A National Lottery winner in Tameside has come forward to claim a £1 million prize after an appeal to check tickets. Accounts differ on how long the prize went unclaimed, placing the period at between one and four months. The claim came before a December deadline for the prize. The National Lottery had urged players in Tameside to look for the winning ticket. The winner’s identity has not been disclosed.
Andy Carter, Senior Winner’s Advisor at lottery operator Allwyn, said the company had worked to publicise the unclaimed prize locally and nationally. He said it wanted to make the missing winner “talk of the town”. Carter added: “We are delighted that the winner has come forward to claim their prize.” According to the National Lottery, Lotto has made 151 millionaires since the start of the year. The Tameside claim ends its search for the holder of this £1 million ticket.
The National Lottery is also seeking the holder of a £5,844,340 ticket bought in Lewisham, London. It says the ticket matched all six main numbers in the Saturday, 26 September draw. The winning numbers were 22, 27, 38, 42, 47 and 59, with 31 drawn as the Bonus Ball. The National Lottery has urged people who bought tickets in Lewisham for that draw to check them. It says the ticket holder has until 25 March 2027 to claim the prize.
