THIEVES BURGLE THIERNO BARRY'S HOME DURING EVERTON MATCH

SAT 31 OCT 2026 FOOTBALL

Thierno Barry’s partner, Charlene, said thieves burgled their home on Thursday evening while they attended Everton’s Carabao Cup match against Newcastle. She said nobody was home at the time. Barry scored as Everton won 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium and reached the quarter-finals. Charlene described the burglary as an “extremely distressing and violating experience” for their family.

Charlene disclosed the break-in on Instagram and asked anyone who had seen or heard anything suspicious to contact her. She said she and Barry would offer a financial reward for information that helped identify those responsible. The couple share a daughter. A month before the burglary, Charlene posted a TikTok video showing designer handbags in a walk-in wardrobe at the property.

The burglary follows other reported break-ins at footballers’ homes. Britney De Villiers, the partner of Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, said thieves had burgled their Nottingham home a few days earlier. She said she felt “violated” and urged others to remain vigilant. Thieves also burgled Bruno Fernandes’s £4 million Cheshire mansion while he played in Italy in the Champions League earlier this month.
