META LAUNCHES STYLE SKETCH FASHION APP IN THREE ASIAN COUNTRIES

Meta has launched Style Sketch, an AI fashion app, in Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. The app is available on Android and iOS in those three countries. Its description says it helps users assemble outfits from clothes they already own. Style Sketch can build a virtual wardrobe from photographs posted to linked Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Users can also add clothes by taking photographs, recording a short video or uploading images from their mobile phone. Style Sketch suggests combinations from the wardrobe based on a user’s style. Users can choose an item to build an outfit around, enter the day’s weather or request outfit plans for a trip. They can preview combinations on what the app description calls a “realistic model matched to your body shape and skin tone”.

Meta also launched Waddle World, a virtual pet game, in the Philippines a few weeks before Style Sketch. Mark Zuckerberg said earlier this year that Meta planned to release more apps because AI had made them easier to develop. Google’s AI Search has offered a virtual clothes try-on feature since 2025. Google added a Wardrobe feature to Photos earlier this year that catalogues clothing by scanning a user’s library. OpenAI has introduced a ChatGPT feature that lets users upload photographs of themselves and clothes to preview how the garments look.
