UKRAINE STRIKES RUSSIAN FACTORY WITH STORM SHADOW MISSILES

SUN 25 OCT 2026 EUROPE

Ukraine struck the Proton-Electrotex factory in Oryol, Russia, with British-made Storm Shadow missiles. Footage from the area appears to show a large fireball at the complex. The factory is thought to produce components for ballistic weapons, including parts linked to warheads used against Kyiv this week. The strike followed a UK agreement to send Ukraine more bunker-busting missiles.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said SpaceX had restored the speeds of its Starlink and Starshield services after restrictions affected their use. The satellite services support mobile communications and drone operations, including work along the front line. Zelensky said the restoration began overnight and speeds had reached the required level by the following morning. “The speeds are now where they need to be,” he wrote on X. He thanked Donald Trump, members of Congress, senators, the State Department and others for helping to resolve the restrictions.

Melania Trump said she had brokered a temporary ceasefire for Oleshky, an occupied Ukrainian city near the Crimean Peninsula. The arrangement is intended to open evacuation routes and allow humanitarian aid to reach residents. Up to 6,000 people, including hundreds of children, are said to face severe food shortages after months without deliveries. Residents also face limited electricity, gas and running water, while medical supplies have run out amid shelling, drone threats and mined roads. The ceasefire is due to begin on Tuesday at 4am local time; its duration remains unclear.
