OSPREYS BEAT DRAGONS AT ST HELEN'S
Ospreys beat Dragons 31-14 in the United Rugby Championship on their return to St Helen's in Swansea after more than 20 years away. Reuben Morgan-Williams scored twice as Ospreys secured a bonus point with five tries. Sam Parry, Ross Moriarty and a penalty try completed their scoring. A crowd of 5,592 watched the match in wet and windy conditions. Ospreys led 19-7 at half-time after Rio Dyer scored for Dragons with the final play of the first half.
Morgan-Williams opened the scoring from close range in the sixth minute, and Dan Edwards converted. He added his second try after Dragons failed to gather a kick through from Lalakai Foketi. Parry then scored from a driving line-out shortly before half-time. Ospreys earned a penalty try from another line-out drive soon after the restart, before Moriarty added their fifth try. Anzelo Tuitavuki scored Dragons' second try, and Tinus de Beer converted both Dragons tries.
Dragons received three yellow cards during the match, with Rhodri Williams, De Beer and Aneurin Owen each spending time in the sin bin. Williams received his card when Dragons stopped the drive that led to the penalty try. Dyer did not return for the second half, and Dragons co-captain Ben Carter left the field with a head injury. Their departures came before the Nations Championship, for which Dyer had been recalled to the Wales squad. Ospreys had also beaten Dragons 38-28 in an earlier meeting.
