POLICE SEARCH FOR PRISONER WHO LEFT LONDON MEDICAL UNIT

The Metropolitan Police are searching for Anthony Lloyd after he forced his way out of a medical unit in Lewisham, south London, at about 4.10pm on Friday. Police said he was last seen heading towards Catford. Lloyd had transferred from prison to the medical facility in September. Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley said: “We are concerned he poses a risk both to himself and the public, and would urge anyone who sees him to call 999 immediately. Do not approach him.”

Lloyd was convicted in 2025 of actual bodily harm in connection with an incident involving three emergency workers in Nottinghamshire. He received a 12-month custodial sentence. Police described him as white, about 5ft 8in tall and of medium build, with short dark hair. He was wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers when he left the unit. Officers have not identified a confirmed destination.

Police believe Lloyd could be anywhere in London. They said he also has links to Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Merseyside. Pressley asked people to share any information that could help officers find Lloyd, however small it might seem. Police asked anyone with information to call 999 and quote CAD4739/23Oct.
