JAIDEN HASSAN-AGARD JAILED FOR MANSLAUGHTER OF TIA LANGDON

SAT 24 OCT 2026 CRIME

Jaiden Hassan-Agard received an 18-year prison sentence for the manslaughter of Tia Langdon. Winchester Crown Court heard that Langdon fell from a balcony while trying to escape Hassan-Agard, who had threatened her with a machete. She died after the fall at a block of flats in Cuckmere Lane, Southampton, on 28 August 2025. Mrs Justice Tipples told Hassan-Agard: “You terrorised her so much that she saw no option but to try to escape you by going over the balcony.”

The court heard that Hassan-Agard had accused Langdon and another woman of stealing drugs from him. He punched Langdon and broke her nose. The court convicted him of actual bodily harm, threatening to kill Langdon, falsely imprisoning her and making threats with an offensive weapon. He also received sentences for kidnapping the second woman, falsely imprisoning her and making threats against her. The judge said Hassan-Agard had previously been assessed as a victim of modern slavery and had become involved in drugs as a child.

Mrs Justice Tipples imposed an extended sentence that includes three years on licence after Hassan-Agard leaves prison. She said: “I am satisfied you do pose a significant risk to the public of serious harm.” The judge also told him that he had done nothing to help Langdon after her fall. Langdon’s family said: “We continue to grieve her loss every day, but her memory will remain with us always.”
