JAMES BOND CONTENDERS FACE SCREEN TESTS THIS WEEKEND

Screen tests for the next James Bond are set to take place this weekend, with Callum Turner and Jack Lowden among the actors in contention. A third actor is also in the running, but that person's name has not been disclosed. Jacob Elordi has lost a place in the final audition. The search concerns who will succeed Daniel Craig in the role of 007, which he last played in No Time To Die.

Lowden appeared in Slow Horses and joins Turner on the list of named contenders. Five years have passed since Craig's final Bond film, according to the account of the casting timeline. Speculation about his successor has continued during that period. The available casting details give no reason for Elordi's exclusion from the final audition and provide no information about the unnamed actor.

The planned tests mark the next specified step in choosing a new Bond. No actor has been confirmed for the role in the information available. The casting details do not say when a decision will follow the auditions. For now, Turner and Lowden remain the named candidates, alongside a third contender whose identity has not been made public.
