GRACE EDGE FACES MURDER CHARGES OVER GEORGIA SHOOTINGS

Authorities in Georgia have charged Grace Edge with murder after a shooting killed her former husband, Wallace Truman Edge, and his girlfriend, Pamela Cook, at a trailer home. Toombs County Sheriff Jordan Kight said Wallace had begun a relationship with Pamela and that Grace appeared unwilling to accept it. Deputies found Wallace and Pamela dead when they reached the property after an emergency call at about 2.30pm on Monday. Grace faces seven charges: two counts of malice murder, two counts of murder and three counts of aggravated assault.

Officials said Grace and Wallace divorced more than a decade ago but continued an intermittent relationship until Wallace began dating Pamela. The two victims sustained four gunshot wounds between them. Pamela’s mother, Diane Cook, was inside the home and called emergency services before a shot struck her arm. “She just come in [and] start[ed] shooting,” Diane said during the call. Grace remains in custody ahead of her first court appearance.

Kight said investigators believed Grace drove directly from the trailer home to the Toombs County Sheriff’s Office. He said Grace and Wallace had repeatedly called police about domestic disputes and other incidents during their marriage. Police made no arrests over those earlier complaints. Kight described the shooting as a shock to the county, which he said has about 27,000 residents.
