COURT JAILS THEO GOTTSHALK FOR 13 YEARS AFTER NOTTINGHAM ROBBERY

WED 21 OCT 2026 CRIME

Theo Gottshalk has been jailed for 13 years after robbing another teenager in Nottingham. Gottshalk threatened to “chop” the teenager’s arm unless he handed over his phone during the robbery on Woolpack Lane on 9 September last year. He took the teenager’s phone, bracelet and chain. Nottinghamshire Police later found Gottshalk at a McDonald’s on Clumber Street, where an officer Tasered him during an attempt to arrest him.

Officers had spotted Gottshalk on a Nottingham bus before tracking him to the restaurant. Police body camera footage showed him struggling with officers inside McDonald’s. CCTV footage showed him running towards the door and losing his shirt during the struggle. As he fell after being Tasered, a three-foot machete dropped from his trousers. The weapon had a red handle and matched the machete used in the robbery.

Four officers were involved in the attempt to arrest Gottshalk. Nottinghamshire Police said officers also recovered several bags of cannabis from him. The arrest took place on 23 October, after police had searched for him following the robbery. The robbery, arrest and jail sentence form part of the same case, but the available account does not give the date of sentencing.
