SHARON OSBOURNE REVEALS OZZY'S ILLNESS BEFORE FINAL CONCERT

WED 21 OCT 2026 FILM

Sharon Osbourne said Ozzy Osbourne was seriously ill when he performed his final concert at Villa Park. Speaking at the British premiere of a film about the show, she said Black Sabbath’s other members and their children did not know how ill he was. “I was petrified,” she said. Sharon said Ozzy had received advice against performing but insisted on taking the stage to thank his fans.

The concert, called Back To The Beginning, took place on 5 July at Villa Park. Ozzy had Parkinson’s disease and had undergone multiple operations after a fall. Sharon said he also had emphysema, which made breathing difficult and left his ability to sing uncertain from day to day. “He was just praying that his lungs would work and that he could sing,” she said.

Sharon said Ozzy was told 10 days before the concert that he probably would not make it through the performance. She quoted his response: “No, I’ve made my commitment, I’m doing it.” She said the film showed that he performed well at the concert. Ozzy died of a heart attack two weeks after the show.
