MCTOMINAY SCORES TWICE AS NAPOLI BEAT BODØ/GLIMT

WED 21 OCT 2026 FOOTBALL

Scott McTominay scored his first goals of the season as Napoli beat Bodø/Glimt 4-3 in the Champions League. Matteo Politano put Napoli ahead in the first minute, and Jens Petter Hauge equalised for the visitors in the 27th. McTominay restored Napoli’s lead before half-time after running on to a pass from Kevin De Bruyne. Andreas Helmersen brought Bodø/Glimt level again after the hour mark, before McTominay headed in his second. Match accounts differ on whether that goal came in the 71st or 75th minute.

McTominay had missed part of the season after undergoing a procedure to treat an irregular heartbeat. He also struck a post during the match. Odin Bjørtuft then turned a Giovane cross into his own net to extend Napoli’s lead. Sondre Brunstad Fet scored for Bodø/Glimt in injury time after a Bjørtuft effort hit the bar. Napoli had lost their first two Champions League matches, against Arsenal and Villarreal, while Bodø/Glimt had beaten Borussia Dortmund the previous week.

The result gave Napoli three points from three Champions League matches, with Bodø/Glimt also on three points. Napoli are due to visit Porto on Wednesday, 4 November, and Bodø/Glimt are due to host Lille on Tuesday, 3 November. Elsewhere, Atlético Madrid drew 1-1 with Stuttgart after Morten Hjulmand received a red card. Borussia Dortmund beat Sabah 2-1, Slavia Prague drew 2-2 at Fenerbahce, PSV beat Porto 1-0, and Roma defeated Slovan Bratislava 4-0.
