THIEF STEALS TRADING CARDS FROM FEDEX TRUCK IN SANTA ANA

WED 21 OCT 2026

Santa Ana police said a thief stole trading cards valued at approximately $963,000 (£720,000) from a FedEx truck in California. The theft took place outside Professional Sports Authenticators (PSA), where the cards had been graded before shipment back to their owners. The cards were in more than 200 packages and included sports and Pokémon cards, police said. Police said the thief broke the truck’s lock while the FedEx driver was away from the vehicle.

Card collector and YouTuber SKY-B said 104 of his cards were among those stolen. “A hundred four cards which were either case hits, which are ultra rare, or they're 1-of-1s, meaning they're the only one in the world,” he said. SKY-B described many of the cards as irreplaceable. Collectors said it knew of the theft involving a third-party shipping vehicle carrying PSA-graded items. The company said it was working with law enforcement and the carrier during the investigation.

Collectors said it had deactivated the certificates for the stolen cards. It also notified marketplace partners so they could watch for rare and serialised items. Its customer service team had contacted affected customers directly and was arranging compensation based on fair market value, the company said. Collectors said many of the affected owners regarded their cards as more than financial assets.
