JAY-Z REPORTEDLY PICKS HIMSELF FOR SUPER BOWL HALF-TIME SHOW
Jay-Z has reportedly chosen himself to headline the Super Bowl LXI half-time show in February 2027. The NFL has yet to announce a performer, and neither the league nor Roc Nation responded to a request for comment. Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber were also reportedly considered for the performance. Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for 14 February at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Jay-Z has never been the Super Bowl’s main half-time performer.
Roc Nation has worked with the NFL to select performers and produce the half-time show since 2019. The two organisations renewed their partnership in 2024. Producer Jesse Collins has said Jay-Z makes the final decision on the headliner. One account put the deal’s annual value at $5 million. Bad Bunny performed at the 2026 Super Bowl with a set entirely in Spanish.
Jay-Z is due to perform twice at SoFi Stadium this week. He is marking 30 years since his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and 25 years since The Blueprint. His recent concerts included three sold-out shows at Yankee Stadium in New York and a sold-out show in Paris. He also reunited the Fugees for two sold-out shows in London. An eight-part HBO documentary featuring producer Rick Rubin is streaming.
