BBC DEVELOPS DATING SHOW OPEN TO ALL GENDERS AND SEXUALITIES

The BBC has commissioned an untitled dating programme open to “all genders and sexualities”. A casting notice seeks participants aged 18 to 26 who want to meet someone and try for a second date. The notice says filming will take place in London in early November. Strong Watch Studios is developing the programme for the BBC’s YouTube channel. The BBC has not announced a broadcast date.

The commission follows the end of two BBC dating programmes presented by Dannii Minogue, I Kissed A Boy and I Kissed A Girl. I Kissed A Boy first aired on BBC Three in 2023. Production company Twofour followed it with the all-women series I Kissed A Girl the next year. I Kissed A Boy returned with an all-male cast in 2025. The BBC said it was “exceptionally proud” of the programmes but had made “difficult choices in light of our funding challenges”.

The BBC has also ended RuPaul’s Drag Race UK after 11 series. The programme will move to the streaming service WOW Presents Plus. Its former contestants include La Voix, Danny Beard and Tia Kofi. The new dating programme is among the BBC’s YouTube-first commissions. Another is a question-and-answer spin-off of Stacey Dooley’s Clickbait Clinic.
