JAMES HANDY DIED FROM STAB WOUND AND NECK COMPRESSION

James Handy, an actor known for appearing in Top Gun: Maverick, died from a stab wound to the torso and neck compression, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office. Handy was found unconscious with a chest stab wound in the front yard of a Tarzana home on 3 June. He was pronounced dead at a hospital. The Medical Examiner's Office ruled his death a homicide.

Handy had a decades-long career as a character actor in film and television. Michael Gledhill, aged 44 and the son of Handy's girlfriend, was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death. Investigators are continuing their inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The confirmation of the cause of death came several days after the initial discovery of Handy's body. No further details regarding the investigation have been disclosed at this time. Authorities have not released additional information about the events leading to the fatal stabbing.
