GUNMEN FIRE AT TIGER SHROFF IN MUMBAI

Gunmen fired at a car carrying Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai on Sunday evening, according to Indian police. Shroff sustained no gunshot wounds, police said. The shooting took place as his car left a football club in Juhu, a Mumbai suburb. Police said two people were injured, including Shroff’s driver, while an autorickshaw driver was also reportedly hurt.

Footage circulated after the shooting appears to show at least two gunmen firing several shots at close range towards a car’s front passenger seat as it moved slowly past a crowd. In 2024, Indian police arrested two members of a criminal gang after gunmen fired at the home of Bollywood actor Salman Khan. Indian politician Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai that same year. Shroff, the son of two actors, made his film debut in the 2014 romance *Heropanti*. He also plays football for Mumbay FC.

A social media post linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the shooting. Police are investigating the attack and checking that claim. Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, visited Shroff on Sunday evening and said the actor and his mother were “shaken”. Shinde said: “These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism.”
