YOU CAN SEE EVERYTHING EARNS $15M IN NORTH AMERICAN DEBUT

MON 19 OCT 2026

You Can See Everything, Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, took $15 million at the US and Canadian box office during its opening weekend, according to opening figures. That total marked the largest opening for a non-musical documentary in North America since Fahrenheit 9/11 took $23.9 million in 2004. The film played on 855 screens, and production company A24 said it recorded more than 2,000 sold-out screenings. It finished second for the weekend behind Street Fighter, which took $31 million.

Fielder and Oppenheim made the nearly three-hour film in secret over three years. They filmed Holmes, her partner Billy Evans and their two children before Holmes began an 11-year prison sentence in 2023 for defrauding investors in Theranos. Fielder spent more than a month with the family in the period before Holmes entered prison. After a screening at the New York Film Festival, Fielder said: “I am still struggling to this day to understand what I went through.”

The opening exceeded Chimpanzee’s $10.7 million debut in 2012, the previous benchmark for a non-musical documentary after Fahrenheit 9/11. Audience figures put more than 70% of opening-weekend viewers under 35. The film has yet to open internationally, with releases scheduled for 12 November in Australia and 20 November in the UK. A reported production cost of less than $7 million and marketing cost of less than $10 million provide context for its opening takings.
