LIAM MILLAR SCORES TWICE IN BIRMINGHAM CITY WIN OVER QPR
Birmingham City beat QPR 3-0 at St Andrew’s in the Championship, with Liam Millar scoring twice for the home side. Millar scored in the 27th minute and again in the 49th, putting Birmingham in control. Chris Davies, Birmingham’s manager, praised the winger after the match. QPR had entered the game with the same record as Birmingham and an unbeaten away record.
Millar is at Birmingham City on loan. His double took him to four goals across his last three appearances at St Andrew’s. “I’ve said before I’ve tried to get him every year to the club and I finally convinced him,” Davies said. Birmingham’s win strengthened its push for promotion from the Championship, while Millar added to his recent tally of home goals.
“He’s doing great,” Davies said. “He has got energy. He has got intelligence. He has got quality.” Davies said Millar’s finishing mattered when chances came: “And when you get a chance and can be clinical with it, then you’re a really good winger.” He called Millar’s display “a super performance” after Birmingham ended QPR’s unbeaten away run.
